Laws of nature and laws of life

God’s spiritual laws are just as accurate and true as His natural laws, but how many of us are interested in “spiritual science?”

God’s laws of nature and laws of life

The laws of nature and the laws of life are two sets of laws that govern different parts of the world; the tangible and intangible. Both sets of laws are equally true and equally unbreakable.

In 1543 Copernicus asserted that the sun, not the earth, was the center of the solar system. This certainly was an important discovery, but the fact that our planet is not the center of the universe had already been established for a while – as a matter of fact, since creation.

Other scientists also concluded that the earth was round and not flat. However, until not so long ago, a person stating truths like this would have been in danger of losing his life. Or, who of our grandparents would have believed that one day their grandchildren would be walking around with small cellular phones in their pockets, able to speak to anyone, anywhere on the planet? The technology is simple enough – once it is discovered.

Two sides of the same coin

The laws of nature have been there all along, even though people did not know them – and to a large extent they are still not known despite the fact that the laws of nature function with 100% mathematical accuracy, without exception, for all people, and under every possible circumstance; this is how it has always been.

The laws of nature have their counterpart in “The laws of the Spirit of life” – the spiritual laws of nature. These are two sides of the same thing; they cannot be separated any more than the two sides of a coin. Through the ages, people have shown an enormous interest in discovering the laws of nature, since this undoubtedly gives hope for a better and richer future. Unfortunately, it seems as if this interest in the laws of the Spirit of life is waning, correspondingly. Let us look at a few selections from these incredible laws of life:

  • “The generous soul will be made rich.” Proverbs 11:25.

  • “Ask, and it will be given to you.” Matthew 7:7.

  • “Give and it will be given to you.” Luke 6:38.

And do not forget the most important one of them all:

  • “He who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11.

Each one of us must simply do as Copernicus. We must acknowledge these are divine truths. We must come to faith that this is how it is – always, in all circumstances, for all people, and at all times.

God’s will and the laws of life

Nevertheless, God often does intervene both in nature and in our lives. The Creator is above the creation. God’s intervention does not collide with the laws of life, but is in agreement and in accordance with His own creation. God does not have to implement special measures to get His laws of nature to function. Neither does God have to intervene in order for His promises to be fulfilled, when I have kept the conditions. God is not a respecter of persons – He simply lets His laws take effect. See Romans 2:11-16.

Why is there so little progress and development, so little fellowship, or so little revelation of the Spirit? The answer is self-evident: We have not come to faith! We are still walking around thinking, “The earth is flat,” and that “I am the center of the universe.”

Maybe it is time to take an interest in “spiritual science?”
