16 glorious Bible verses that prove that you can be transformed!
Where your nature was once thoroughly human, it can become divine! The proof is right there in the Bible!
You have recently made a very conscious and determined decision to commit your life fully to the Lord. You have a new attitude, and a new desire. The same desire that Jesus had: “Not My will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42.
But as you go about your life, you find you’re still tempted to gossip, to selfishness, to impure, to outbursts of anger, etc. This is what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 7:18-21: “… I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.”
This is happening because no matter how sincere your desire to do good is, the only way for you to get rid of your body of sin – the lusts and desires that tempt you from within – is to moment-by-moment overcome temptation. (James 1:14) It takes time, perseverance, and faithfulness. But each time you overcome your lusts you are being transformed internally! The Bible says you can be transformed by the renewing of your mind! Where your nature was once thoroughly human, with all the sin and lusts that come with that, your nature can become divine!
