Young women’s conference in New York

A very special weekend retreat – the annual “girls only” conference!

Central New York in mid February doesn’t immediately come to mind as an ideal destination getaway, unless you are fond of snow, ice and freezing temperatures! But if you happened to catch a glimpse inside Victory Conference Center on this occasion, you would see 150 girls, all ranging from young teens to moms in their 30s, gathered together for a very special weekend retreat!

A special emphasis is placed on learning from God’s Word, with practical examples on how to use it in our everyday Christian lives, combined with plenty of opportunity for “chill time” – sports, leisure activities, catching up with old friends, and making new ones.

The speakers at the conference spoke clearly that we can be conformed to the image of Christ as a product of believing God and His Word. When we believe this as a personal possibility, God can do great things in our lives!

Erica Braudrick, who has attended this conference in past years as well, shares why it’s so important for her to be there.

“I get so much help for my own life! I often think of the verse in 1 Peter 5:9: ‘Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.’ We get to come together for these weekends where we can be together with other girls who are in the same fight against sin that we are in. Where we can be built up in our faith! Isn’t that amazing?”

The Grace that is in Christ Jesus

“When people think about grace, they usually think about the forgiveness of sins; and since we have all sinned, we all need grace.” Sigurd Bratlie opens this booklet about grace with these words. However, he goes on to describe in-depth that the grace that is in Christ Jesus means so much more than forgiveness. It also means truth and help. It teaches us not to sin, so that we can be completely free to live a life of victory that leads to perfection.
