Central New York in mid February doesn’t immediately come to mind as an ideal destination getaway, unless you are fond of snow, ice and freezing temperatures! But if you happened to catch a glimpse inside Victory Conference Center on this occasion, you would see 150 girls, all ranging from young teens to moms in their 30s, gathered together for a very special weekend retreat!
A special emphasis is placed on learning from God’s Word, with practical examples on how to use it in our everyday Christian lives, combined with plenty of opportunity for “chill time” – sports, leisure activities, catching up with old friends, and making new ones.
The speakers at the conference spoke clearly that we can be conformed to the image of Christ as a product of believing God and His Word. When we believe this as a personal possibility, God can do great things in our lives!
Erica Braudrick, who has attended this conference in past years as well, shares why it’s so important for her to be there.
“I get so much help for my own life! I often think of the verse in 1 Peter 5:9: ‘Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhoodThe “brothers” and “sisters” are those who are a part of the church of Christ. (Matthew 23:8; Matthew 12:50; Hebrews 2:10-18)... More in the world.’ We get to come together for these weekends where we can be together with other girls who are in the same fightAlmost all talk of battles and wars when concerning a Christian life refers to the inner battle that arises when a sinful thought tempts you. More against sinSin is anything that goes against God’s will and His laws. To commit sin is to transgress or disobey these laws. The lust to sin dwells in human nature. In other words, it is contaminated and motivated by the sinful tendencies that dwell in all people as a result of the fall into sin and disobedience in the garden of Eden. This... More that we are in. Where we can be built up in our faith! Isn’t that amazing?”
Explore how God’s Word challenges and empowers us to live 100% according to His will, so we no longer need to fall in sin, but can come to a life of victory.
This booklet is based on Paul’s words in Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with ChristJesus was physically crucified on the cross at Calvary. Though blameless, He took upon Himself the punishment for sin, which was death, so He could pay our debts and forgive us our sin if we are willing to believe in Him and follow Him the Apostle Paul wrote: “I have been crucified with Christ…” (Galatians 2:20) This is a metaphorical... More; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me …” Here Elias Aslaksen explains what this means and how the reader can have the same testimony as Paul in their own life.
The seniors in BCC lead active, full lives, and are a vital, respected group in the churchMany people use the word to denote the entire body of Christians, and others to describe a certain denomination or group or even the physical building that Christians gather in.
