15 Uplifting Bible verses especially for young people

Being a young Christian today is something really incredible. In the middle of a dark and evil world, you can shine as a light! But as young people we experience temptation – we are definitely very drawn by our lusts. Luckily for us we are fully equipped to overcome every single temptation! The Bible is full of hopeful, encouraging, strengthening verses for young people, some of which we’ve collected here as a reminder of the possibilities that are open to us. If you put your faith in these words, and are obedient to them, you will experience amazing things!

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9.

The Lord is with you!

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid … for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.

“And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9.

Give it your all!

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1Timothy 4:12.

“Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37.

“Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22.

“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13.

“I have written to you, young men (and women!), because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.” 1 John 2:14.

Use the Word!

“How can a young man (or woman!) cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:9-11.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105.

The Grace that is in Christ Jesus

“When people think about grace, they usually think about the forgiveness of sins; and since we have all sinned, we all need grace.” Sigurd Bratlie opens this booklet about grace with these words. However, he goes on to describe in-depth that the grace that is in Christ Jesus means so much more than forgiveness. It also means truth and help. It teaches us not to sin, so that we can be completely free to live a life of victory that leads to perfection.
