A song that expresses the peace and rest that anyone finds who stops seeking fulfillment in worldly things and finds their spiritual home.

Lyrics: In my thoughts I set sail

In my thoughts I set sail
On life’s sea through storm and gale,
Seeking for a harbor where
Joy and blessing abound,
But at every port and town
Empty, short-lived joy I found,
Till I came to a true haven, fair.

On this glorious island warm,
Far from worldly stress and storm,
I found paradise at last!
Hope and life are here!
Here I’ll dwell, my vision’s clear.
This blessed home will e’er endure.
Now I have come to heaven’s port, for sure.

O, the church is so dear;
It’s a summer island here.
Though the world is bleak and cold,
Life and blessing increase.
God’s good word is sown in peace;
In our hearts it ne’er will cease.
In our homes God’s joy and rest unfold.

On this glorious island warm,
Far from worldly stress and storm,
I found paradise at last!
Hope and life are here!
Here I’ll dwell, my vision’s clear.
This blessed home will e’er endure.
Now I have come to heaven’s port, for sure.
