Are you bearing witness to the truth with your life?
People must be able to touch and handle God’s word in our life.
“Pilate therefore said to Him, ‘Are You a king then?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’” John 18:37.
Jesus is the truth
Jesus was aware of His calling. No one could move Him. He knew why He had come and where He was going. He knew what He had given up and what was awaiting Him when He allowed Himself to be born into this world. He was born to bear witness to the truth. Jesus is the truth. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
He was the king of truth and righteousness. He could not be anything else, because He was born to it. He lived and reigned in truth. There He crushed Satan, the prince of lies and darkness, under His feet. Because He was always true and honest, He was a light and judgment to all those with whom He came into contact. This is why He was hated. He possessed neither form nor beauty that we should desire Him. He said to His disciples, “The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.” John 7:7.
All you have to do to be liked by everyone is to go around with a smiling face and flatter them; then you will have friends galore. It costs something to be true and honest all the time. In fact, it costs everything. Then you will not have so many friends, but the friends you do have will be so much more valuable. They will be friends who do not say one thing and mean something else. They will be friends you can always depend on. They become faithful friends who will not so easily forsake you.

Walk in the truth
“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” 1 John 2:6. If we have been called and chosen in Him and have been born by His word of truth to be a firstfruit of His creation, then we are not born for any other reason but to bear witness to the truth. God’s word must become flesh in us. People must be able to touch and handle God’s word in our life. We must bear witness to the truth with our life and our words.
We must also be aware of our calling. We should know that when we are born in Him, we are also born to be kings of truth who are called to rule and reign and triumph over all the powers of lying, flattery, and hypocrisy. How can we, as kings of truth, crawl before people and flatter them to gain a position in the world, or compromise the truth for the sake of a little honor and gain? No, a king of truth must live and walk in the truth, because for this reason he was born.
Most people lose interest in us if we are always true and honest. We lose everything that goes under the name of “charm,” because that is from Satan. We become natural and straightforward, and we lose everything that the human eye admires and looks up to. The goal of a true Christian is to vanish into the background so that he himself becomes nothing, that Christ might appear great in everything he does and says; for we died, and our life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3.)
