What is the function of the body of Christ?

VIDEO: Who are the servants whom Jesus has given to the Church? What is their function in the Body of Christ?

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12.

The ministries in the body of Christ are a lifelong work that we who are disciples have come into by the grace of God. It is by them that we are able to serve one another in whatever capacity God has called each of us to. God has given each one a specific task that only they can do. When we each fulfill our task, we can be part of the tremendously great goal, which is that the whole body will be perfected and prepared and ready for Jesus to receive when He returns.

What is the purpose of the brotherhood?

“… to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 3:10.

The church – the body of Christ; the brotherhood of Jesus Christ – will remain standing for all eternity as a testimony of people who were resurrected because of their faith and love of God. Then all created beings will understand that to live by the will of God is the only right choice to make.

Watch the video to hear Gary Fenn explain this clearly, in an encouraging way.
